Hi families. My name is Lizzy "Snaps" Sullivan and I am a seasoned photographer, a Brooklyn native, and mom to two amazing kids serving the Brooklyn and Huntington community. I was adopted from Chile when I was 2 months old and raised in Park Slope Brooklyn in the 80's. I picked up my first film camera when I was in 7th grade attending Packer Collegiate Institute. It changed my whole world and later decided to major in Fine Art Photography at SUNY Purchase where I received a BFA in 2002.

I have worked as a photographer since I graduated college. I've had the opportunity to host a travel photography series, "You Get the Picture - with Lizzy Snaps" on travelchannel.com as well as shoot for the New York Post for over 15 years, covering celebrity portraiture, news, studio work, and New York Fashion week. I have also shot for Time Out NY, Blackbook, TV guide magazine and Nike specializing in fashion and portrait work. I started my own photography business in 2011 allowing me to focus on my passion for portraiture. You can see my online portfolio at www.LizzySullivan.com

When I was 19 years old, I found my entire birth family on a small island of Chile and used my camera to document and understand the family I never knew. Photographing families has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my career because of the amazing relationships I maintain with families over the years. I love returning each year to see how the children have grown but also really enjoy meeting new Brooklyn families. Now that I am a mom, I see how fleeting childhood can be so I understand the value of documenting each phase.

With a fine art background I try to mix my street photography reportage style with a more fine tuned formal portrait. I love capturing the spontaneous moments that unfold during our session, but I am also good at directing my subjects into a more composed portrait.

I currently offer outdoor sessions or studio sessions in my Park Slope photo studio (located one block from the park)
